Fatties look really good, But How do I make them? And what is a BMT I keep hearing about? I am smoking a brisket right now and would like to throw some on. This forum sight is great, and you all seem like wonderful people. James (NASA)

A fatty is a roll of breakfast saugage that may or may not be rolled in a rub and then smoked. Get creative and stuff them with cheese, peppers, onions or whatever you can come up with.

A BMT? Broke My Thermometer maybe? Are you refering to an ABT? If so, that is an Atomic Buffalo Turd, which is a jalapeno pepper stuffed with a cream cheese and whatever you can imagine mixture, then wrapped in bacon and smoked until the bacon is crisp.

Thanks, Ya I meant ABT srry So do you just get reg sausage and roll it around the fillings then put bacon on it? Not sure I understand what to do

James, The one pound chub of Jimmy Dean's sausage is what most folks use. For a basic fattie, just remove the plastic wrapper and place into the smoker. Turn it over after 45-50 minutes and let it go another 45 minutes or until the internal temp is 180*. I'll sometimes grind my own sausage then divide it into 1 pound sections and roll it into a log. You can kick it up a bit by rolling the sausage in your favorite rub and such be for smoking it.

Fatty's and ABT's are like the hotdog and hamburgers of the smoking see them being cooked every time someone smokes.

I do at least 2 - 4 Fatty's every my case I just roll them in a littke rub....but you can stuff them or even do them plain out of the wrapper.

The important thing isn't how, but that you do..... icon_cool.gif
