Hello all,
My name is Chris. I live in Suffolk Virginia. Have been in the Hampton Roads area for about 10 years.

I am a Floridian by birth, a Gator by the Grace of God!! Go Gators!!

I moved to VA once I was stationed here by the world's greatest Navy. I was just medically retired in April after just 10 years of service.

I have been cooking for about 4 years or so. Really into BBQ. I just recently was gifted with a Lang 36" Hybrid Deluxe. Easily the nicest thing I've ever owned in my life.

That's all for now. I have a graduation cook (my wife is actually graduating today as a Surgical Technologist!! She kicks ass, I know) this weekend. Very excited for that. Loading the Lang up with some ribs!! Expecting anywhere from 20 to 30 folks.

Welcome to SMF!

Wow, that's some friend to give you a Lang!

Looking forward to seeing it in action!

It was a gift but has more sentimental value than anything.

My grandmother passed away last year from cancer. She knew how much I enjoyed cooking and had wanted to buy me a cooker for a long time. She made my mother promise that if anything were to happen, use some of the money she had coming her way to buy me whatever cooker I wanted.

I had a hard time with it at first. As I said this is by far the nicest thing I have ever had and I didn't feel comfortable about anyone spending that kind of money on me. My mom told me to pick one or "I'm gonna pick it and I don't know anything about them"

I have had it for about 4 months or so now.

Good morning and welcome to the forum from a cloudy, humid and windy day here in East Texas, and the best site on the web.         Lots of great people with tons of information on just about everything.
