Hey everyone, just dropping in to say hi and looking forward to seeing the tips and tricks in here. Much like a lot of you, I too got a smoker for Christmas and am looking to try it out. It's a 2 Door Masterbuilt Propane. Live in Highland Park, IL stationed at Naval Station Great Lakes. Would like to get smoking ASAP, but may have to work around the weather and all. Thanks for the add

Happy New Year and Thank you for your service

When you get started try a pork butt as they are easy to cook.

Baskets are great but finicky in that they are hard to master.

Ribs, chicken, sausage are all good. There are plenty of step by steps for all of these on this forum.

Build a fire and cook some meat. Keep notes, you will do well.

Hey thanks cowboy! I've been reading the different posts and threads so I'm not too worried about cooking. Smoked lots of meat with my dad years ago, but nothing on my own. I definitely plan on noting everything like a mad scientist..haha. Should be fun, planning on doing a pork shoulder for some pulled pork. We'll see how it goes.
