Just grabbed this new smoker. I've never used a vertical smoker. Can I use both chambers at the same time( Pork butts in main chamber and something else in vertical, or brisket in main and pork Butts in vertical)

It looks like a nice smoker, but I can't help with using it!

If the smoke/heat from the firebox flows through the horizontal chamber and up through the vertical, I would think you can use both chambers.

Ohh yeah! I can see a butt or two in the horizontal and a few racks of ribs in the vertical.

I have personally never used one, but from other experience, I'd say that vertical is going to be much cooler than the horizontal and would probably be good for hanging fish, bacon, etc. Maybe toss some veggies in there or a pan of beans. Anything goes..

No matter what, it's all going to boil down to the wood / charcoal you use and the size of the fire you maintain..

Split that wood down a few times..

Welcome to the SMF! Post up plenty of posts with pics of what you are doing and folks 'round here will steer you in the right direction..

It looks like a great rig!

Throw some wood in it & experiment.

Checking the temps in different areas of the smoker.
