Hello all.  I'm Del, from Falkirk in Scotland, and I have not the first idea about smoking meat.  I know that I like to eat it, though, so I plan to learn how to cook it.  I've been looking through the forums for a while now, particularly the UK Smokers forum, and have just ordered a little GMG Davy Crockett pellet smoker that I hope will help me to get a consistent temperature in the wild and unpredictable weather of Scotland.  It's not a huge investment, so if it works well I'll think about trading up in the future if I have to.  Right now, the key things for me are to learn and have fun doing it.  My biggest concerns are about that consistent temperature, especially outside of summer, and finding the right cuts of meat here in Scotland.

I travel to the US a couple of times a year, normally to New York and Orlando areas, so I'm always keen to hear about places to eat and any events that are on in those areas too.
