Hey everyone. Sunce it appears customary on this site to introduce one's self I am doing so now. My name is Paul, and actually I used this site as a contributor of information when deciding which smoker I would to buy. One thing that 'stuck' thank you, was "Cry once". LOL that connected.
I ended up with a Green Mountain Grills Jim Bowie. The rationale is, it best fits my lifestyle. Summertime brings me to 'up morth' Minnesota on weekends. Between the quality and wifi control it just 'fits': doing chores on a second property doesn't align well with the babysitting that is demanded by a purist's stick smoker.
Why the JB over the smaller Daniel Boone? A friend of mine who has an awesome custom made smoker told me "you never have enough real estate". Good advice as a couple months later I found myself cooking 8 Boston butts for a religious retreat my son was involved with. That was a FUN challenge!!
I have been using my Jim Bowie since last August and have learned much along the way partially diue to information you all have posted here. I truly have found I love smoking meats. That anticipation that comes with cooking and of course the flavors that I get to share with peop is very satisfying.
Thank you all for your passion and contributions on this site. I won't be a frequent comtributor but I will share and learn together as we go. :-)
