So I've been thinking about getting a smoker for a while now. I ended up jumping on an offer I couldn't resist. The manager at the local tractor supply offered me a 44" Masterbuilt for a steal at $150. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00URO12IS/?tag=smokingmeatforums-20

I've read a lot of the Amazon reviews, but they seem to be for the smaller models. I guess my questions are..
1. Is this too big of a smoker for a newbie?
2. Does a propane smoker produce a taste comparable to charcoal?
3. Has anyone here used this smoker?

I apologized if these questions have been answered elsewhere on this site.

Thanks! Sorry about the link. I just read that outside links are not allowed.
