Hi Everyone,

I am slowly but methodically working on my build. At first, I was not going to bother with a PID, (I was not going to bother with painting it or doing much of anything other than throwing in a heating element and a skillet of wood chips.) but now....oh boy,  I'm going all out. I've even ordered a Razorback decal (GO HOGS!)  to go on the front door like a good Arkansan should.

Here's where I 'd like ya'll's input, there are several PIDs on Auber's website and there are other brands of PIDs. I'd like to get one with 2 temp probes for sure but I don't want to spend anymore than I absolutely have to or buy more than I need.

I will be using a 1500 W heating element, smoking ribs, sausages, cheeses and the like.

I greatly appreciate all the information you all share and will share my pics when I am further along.

Thanks in advance.

When I get around to building mine, I'm going to use Auber's plug n play unit. I'll be getting the 1800 watt dual probe one. I too will be running a 1500 watt element.

Originally I was going to build my own, but I have too many irons in the fire as it is.

go with the auberin dual probe 1800w plug n play. even building your own will cost the same amount, might be slightly more, and you still have to figure out how to build it and then build it.

Th penp dual probe is worth every penny.
