Going tailgating before the Iowa game this weekend (GO HAWKS!) and I volunteered to bring pork. No smoker will be available there tailgating. We will have a gas grill. What I was thinking was putting the butt(s) on Friday night some time, maybe around 5-6pm, smoking them until we pack up to go to the tailgate. Wrap in foil, towels, cooler it, and probably eat around 9am. The butt should still be plenty hot I think right? Unwrap into a foil pan and bear claws to pull. Does this sound like it would work?

i don't see why it wouldn't work, just make sure your butt's get to 205 before you cooler them to make sure they will pull easy. good luck
