Hello all. I am new to this site, and thought I would share my new homemade charcoal smoker with a pizza oven. I'm really not sure if it will work or not, but hey, it's worth the try right?
I am building a reverse flow octagon cc with a square fb. On top of the fire box I am building a pizza oven. I will be able to select which way the heat goes.
Has anyone else done this?
 
I don't think I've seen a combo quite like this before... interesting.  I hope it works like you envisioned- I'm a big fan of both smokers and pizza.  I'm not sure that cobbling together a smoker that *most* folk run at 225 (not me BTW) would be the best heat source for a pizza oven that wants to run at 600- but give it a shot.  Post pix please.
 
I realize that i will not be able to smoke and make pizza at the same time, which is why I can isolate the cb from the fb and open up the fb to the pizza oven, and I hope that if I crank the heat in the fb that it will work...
