Hello!
My name is Matt. I'm mid-40s, married 22 years with 3 kids over the age of 18 (none married yet, all living at home). I live in Barboursville, VA, which is NE of Chartlottesville, VA - home of the Univ. of VA.
I've been smoking and grilling for years. For a smoker, I use a propane Smoky Mountain Vertical Gas Smoker. For grilling, I use lump charcoal in an old propane grill that died and was converted to use charcoal instead. I've recently gained an interest in cured meats and "charcuterie". Currently trying my hand at making some BBB.
I also brew my own beer and recently started fiddling around with recipes for Ginger beer using a Ginger Beer Plant (a form of natural yeast).
Loved reading the articles in the forums so much that I decided to join.
