Hi All,

I have been lurking around the site for a few months. My wife got me a WSM 18" for Christmas. Living in Pa, I didn't try my first smoke til Spring. I have done 2 full chickens twice with Jeff's rub with excellent results. Now I am ready for my first pulled pork. I will try to do a Qview, but I am more concerned about doing the smoke right vs. snapping off pictures. My first pork is going to be a 2 pack shoulder from Costco. Total weight is 12 lbs.

Good morning and welcome from a nice warm day in East Texas and the best forum on the internet, Lots of great people with tons of information on just about  everything. Glad you joined up.

Gary

Thanks Gary!

The website and thread have been a great help so far. I would have been lost without it.

Thanks Piney!

I definitely will be using that one as well as the thread for Dutch's baked beans. May also try the finishing sauce, but a little worried about adding to much and making it mushy. Getting ready to put the rub on. Smoke will be starting at about 4am tomorrow for a 5p party. Two butts at roughly 6 lbs each (12 lb 2 pack)

Thanks again

Welcome from SC. Keep on reading and trying new things. Remember, you can always eat your mistakes. Good luck, Joe

Thanks Joe!

I don't mind eating my mistakes, but the pressure is on for my first shoulder as there will be a party of 20+ awaiting the pulled pork and Dutch's beans. I hope I don't screw up , if I show up empty handed they might start throwing things

Dutch's Wicked Baked Beans are awesome. I like to add the finishing sauce most of the time

Thanks Larry and Piney

I started a Qview on the pork forum. Prepped and ready for a 3-4am start! The WSM is loaded with lump and wood.
I can't figure which one I will want to eat more, the pulled pork or Dutch's beans! Everybody seems to rave about them
