Nope no diffuser, I used 1/2 chimney of partial burnt and new...got me 350* It came out really good, will post pics soon.Looking good looks like no diffuser? How hot does it get? My luck the food would fall in the coals.
I figure i can cook a good 5 quarters and 5 taters easy.

You two have mini's...if you want to do the same thing once in a while it's easy. I'll show you how i made the hooks, 6 of them for about $2.50
I'm just happy to expand the mini's capacity...one thing i know is I've never had a better baked potato!

I just used regular steel rod...aint gonna rust with all this grease but never thought of SS welding rod, good call

I'm sure it does....baked potatoes are typically foiled anyway. One thing I know is they were the among the moistest and tender baked potatoes I've ever had an they were the same cooking time as the chicken so that was a bonus!
