Tri tips on the rec tec

My wife has a couple friends over so I went to costco and bought 2 nice tri tips. Covered in Jeffs TX steak rub. Gonna smoke at 230 till up to temp. Maybe crank it up at the end for a Lil sizzlie. I'll take more pics as I go.d39f85ab7d2072d484f2ebf95307f867.jpg

Just a little tip, take it for what it's worth but I have a pellet smoker also... If ya line your drip can with foil, makes clean up a snap !

Be lookin for sliced pics when they're done !

I ran it up to 350 for a minute or 2.. pulled at 140.. my wife hates rare. Resting now.. I'll take slice pics when ready.

Those look great! How much do you pay per pound? Our price was 7 or 8.99 stopped the other day 10.99.

I think 6.99 for these. Sometimes as low as 4.99 more pice to come

If it was 4.99 here my freezer would be full! And we would have 3 or more a week!

Here it is. 2 hours or so.. at 230.. ramped up to 350 when it was 130 internal. Pulled off the grill when 140.

Nice job. Tri tip is a standard in this house. What kind of wood did you use? 140 is a good temp.
