Pulled Pork

I know pork shoulder or Boston butt is what's normally used to make pulled pork. But I have found Pork Sirloin Tip Roast or Whole Boneless Pork Sirloin are on sale $1.55/lb and wanted to know if I could make pulled pork with either on or both.

Sirloin is a leaner cut of meat, and as such, does not have the fat and connective tissue of a pork butt. This fat and connective tissue is what breaks down during the low and slow cooking process to give it the moisture and tenderness needed for pulled pork. Any loin cut is lean and needs to be cooked only to 145-155 ,any higher and it will dry out and get tough. Hope this helps, David.
