First off I want to thank the Brinkmann Trailmaster LE users on here. I purchased mine Saturday based on what you guys said in the forum. I took all the advice and sealed everything I possibly could with high temp silicone as I was assembling it. I also had tuning plates and the charcoal basket ready before I assembled. I cured it with everything in place. I have a lot to learn but my first cook (ribs) were ok. I orderd the door seal for the firebox and smoking chamber and should be here before the end of week. Again thanks and I'm sure I will have a million questions before it's over.

Welcome! This site is full of the most knowledgeable people on the subject of pretty much everything food. Have fun with your smokes and take plenty of pics!

I do have a question, a friend of mine just recently bought some property, he said its overrun with peach trees and I can have the wood from whatever he cuts down. is this good smoking wood and if so how long do I have to wait to use it

Yes you can smoke with peach. I would cut to the size splits or chunks you want and cure minimum of 6 months.

To tag on to the peach wood question...a friend told me last night he had some wood from a plum tree that fell down, I would think that would be pretty good for smoking too?  What do y'all think?

Yep should be good. Pretty much any fruit trees.

Glad you joined the group. The search bar at the top of any page is your best friend.
About anything you wanna know about smoking/grilling/curing/brining/cutting or slicing

We are all smoke junkies here and we have to get our fix. If you have questions
Post it and you will probably get 10 replies with 11 different answers. That is
because their are so many different ways to make great Q...
