Oklahoma Joe highlander

I just purchased a highlander from Wally World did all the mods I could.
1. Put a baffle between the firebox and cook chamber
2. Made a charcoal basket.
3. Made three plates with various size holes in them to spread out the heat
4. Dropped the chimney down to the cooking grate.
So after all that it still wasn't enough I decided to do something with my old turkey frier. I cut a two inch whole in the bottom of the cook box and fitted a plate to fit the burner from the cooker. Then bolted it all up to the firebox. Then put some lava rocks around the propane burner. I fired it up and on a low setting I had 250 degrees holding on both thermos in about 20 mins. So now I have a propane burning highlander. Or a wood burning one. All I have to do is remove the propane burner and bolt in a solid plate to cover the whole. Any thoughts? Don't know what else to do with it. I guess I should just cook on it. And stop tweaking it. I think that's my disease I always have to tweak things.

I had the enlarge the holes on the plates a bit after my first cook. After that it seems to be holding temps pretty even across the cooking chamber. I will probably have to get some thicker stock and go with the tuning plate method but until then these sheets were cheap and available.
