Random Q Thoughts

Not sure if there is a place here for random thoughts and rants. Smoking a rack of ribs for dinner and some chix breasts for lunch for the week. It's a good feeling when everything with your smoke goes absolutely perfect (so far). Perfect smoke, perfect consistent temp. Perfect day to sit in the backyard and drink a few beers while you watch and smell the beautiful TBS billowing out of your smoker.

It's also extremely gratifying to do everything from scratch, made my own rub, my own Memphis-style sauce. Threw together some ABTs. The girlfriend is vegetarian so I even did some ABTs wrapped in veggie bacon (don't laugh, it's actually really good).

Also, can't say enough good things about my recent purchase of the AMNPS and pellets. So great to get long consistent smokes without having to open the door and worry about adding wood chips. I did the mailbox mod to my MES 30 analog and I'm so happy I did.

Just an absolute perfect day and can't wait to dig into the ribs.

/rant.

Also, we live in NYC. In case anyone wonders how someone living in NYC, 15 minutes from Manhattan can manage to smoke meat every weekend..we got lucky to get a 1st floor apartment with access to our own private back area. This is my set up. Kinda small compared to most of y'alls backyards but it's a great refuge. We got some herbs and upside down tomato plants growing on the left.

Down in the bottom, that's our pitbull, Piglet we found abused, bloody and broken tied up to the gate of the tow yard next door to us last year. Nicest dog I've ever met. Our vet thinks she was a bait dog used in fights. Would never know it from her personality, just from all her scars.
