Which Smoker should I buy

I am looking at buying an electric smoker, i've had a brinkman charcoal for three years and was looking for something new in the 300-700 dollar range.  Suggestions please?  Also, I'll be heading to denver next weekend suggestions on places to eat and bars to hit up?

What is the largest number of people you need to feed? Smokin-It Smokers are in your range. Smokin Tex is as well. Bradley smokers are ok but the proprietary smoke Pucks are expensive. If you can find an Old generation Masterbuilt 40" they work well...JJ

Opinions on this may vary...I owned an MES40 until I upgraded to my current pellet pit, and liked it very much.  There are many members here who own Smokin-It smokers, and speak very highly of them.  I also read good reviews on Smokin' Tex.  I expect any of these rigs would fall in your price range.  Perhaps owners of some of the other brands will weight in...

Best advice I can give is to hit the smoker sites (smokin-it, smokintex, cookshack), prowl around, join their forums and pick the members brains.  Smokin-it and SmokinTex are analog smokers and Smokin-it has the price advantage. Cookshack is digital, accurate to within a couple of degrees, and priced accordingly. From time to time, they have a used/returned/scratch n dent model for sale at a decent price which is how I acquired mine (couldn't have afforded it otherwise). Never hurts to ask.
