Hello! I'm Dave. I'm a novice to smoking red meat although I've been successful with turkey and chickens over the years (my wife only eats poultry) but i want to start smoking pork shoulder, brisket, beef short ribs and pork ribs. I use an electric smoker, indirect heat smoking over hardwood coals in an open pit (cowboy smoking I guess) and also keep small soaked chips in foil packets handy for rushed propane cooking with my Weber grill.
I was a touring guitarist for 16 years and became a stay at home Dad a little over a year ago with my 3 year old boy and cooking buddy, Lucas. I love gardening, home brewing and I'm always excited to learn some tricks around the old grill!
I'm lucky to live in a town that has great BBQ!
