Hey all. This is my first butt with the MES 30 and first Qview so please bear with me. Started at about 7:30 pm.Started with an 8.5lb butt.A little mustard coat and my rub massaged on.
MES was up to 225 so the meat went in.
This is six about 4 hours in. Smoke was going well. Used a mix of hickory and apple. Sprayed it with 1 to 4 ratio of rum to pineapple juice starting after the meat reached 100 degrees.
Pulled it out at about 9:30 the next morning and toweled and coolered it for about 5 hours before pulling it. Pulled it and mixed it with the finishing sauce found on this website. AWESOME!!! Actually put it in a 200 degree oven wrapped in foil until it was time to eat. The temp was dropping too fast while in the cooler so I had to pull it when I did. It was great after being in the oven but when I was originally pulling it I couldn't believe how great it was.
Anyway used this forum every time I was wondering about something and was able to find an answer with the search. Love this site.
My six year old daughter ate three sandwiches and the four year old ate two.
