Once a month when I was growing up we had T-bone steaks, corn on the cob and baked potatoes. It was my favorite meal as a kid. I loved the fact that I could pick up the bone and gnaw on it We didn't have any pets so there was no reason to not! I still like to gnaw on the bone, and our dogs get the rest!

It looks more gnarly than it is. He's a gentle biter, always has been. I tried to get a shot when he took the bone, but he took off to fast!

Now on to the smoke. T-bone steaks, sat in Worcestershire for a while. Dusted with sea salt, cracked pepper, garlic powder and ginger powder. Made some mods to the Mini-WSM, added new vents for better control than the bottom vent. Used mesquite lump and smoked the Bones until they hit 135*

Mods (worked great!!!)

MAN it just don't get any better than that. Perfect color.  Around here (when we have the bucks) it's porterhouse steak. My wife gets the fillet, the New york is mine and our Jack Russell-Corgi mix knows just what to do with the bone.

Thanks Linguica!!!  We do a Porterhouse on special occasions, but the dogs have to fight for the one bone then! Really liking the Mini-WSM, starting to think I need a big sick burner!!!!

BIG YES, I have a set it and forget MES 30 and i really miss that charcoal smell and cooking with real fire. And don't even start about the dreaded smoke ring. Men cook with fire.

p.s.  Never make the mistake I made as a lad...

I gave my dog a bone, he dropped it in the freshly mowed grass, and it was covered with grass clippings

I reached down to wipe-off the clippings....

I still have a scar 40+ years later

Just the opposite with our dog. Before we adopted him, he spent most of his life locked in a garage. The first time I gave him a bone, he didn't have a clue what to do with it. I had to show him how to eat off of it. To this day he prefers if i will hold the bone while he chews on it. Of course, holding on to a half eaten bone, even with the most gentle dog is a dicey undertaking.

Thanks everyone! These steaks were great! There was even enough left over for a nice steak sandwich for my lunch!
