Bill I think its been 27... got married in 84'.   Nov. will be the next one.....   We raised 3 boys.  Life's been good!   She puts up with alot from me.    I'm a big believer in the "ask forgiveness later" kind of guy.  :-)

I don't mind the punishment.....  I'm getting to the point sometimes its just not worth the effort..................................:-)  I mean, whats she going to do?  Not talk to me.........:-)
Hey Wes,

Before you get in trouble that would be 28 years....

Not talk to you...man, that's more like a blessing than punishment sometimes!

Just kiddin' ladies....

Bill
no kidding here,  your right,  its is a blessing!  :-)
Hey Jeremy

Hey Wes - sounds like you're having a good day so far  - more beer is a good thing!  If you don't clean the abt's as much they will be hotter for you - or you could make some out of habs to get heat...
Missed this post.  Haha, there about as hot as I wanted them.   I'm not a hot person.   What goes in hot, comes out twice as hot!   My ass can't handle it!  :-)    I agree beer = good day!   You have to wait till after 12 though or people think you have a problem... :-)

Ok, so I made my first ABTs today.    Not bad.   a couple were a little spicy, but over  I was able to keep the heat down with good ole' Mic Ultra!

Ready to go in.   It ain't pretty....

Finished product.    Pretty good.   Kinda forgot about them.  Burnt'm a little.

Almost time to pull my  butts from the smoker.   It is going to be a good evening!

What a day!   To cold, to much snow,  to much beer.....   Its game time!!

All  butts are accounted for!    4 butts, 6 tators

This butt is mine.  Its not a pretty butt.  But this butt is mine    I like my butt.  :-)

Money shot!

Tried a new rub... didn't like it.

Cheers!

Kat
Thanks Kat.    It was a fun day!   It'll take me a couple days to get over this one.

Just realized I didn't post the seafood cheese as promised.

I use it in my bacon  shrimp cups. http://www.smokingmeatforums.com/t/130624/bacon-shrimp-and-scallop-cups

Being my first ABT  It was pretty good.  I did clean them out really good.  Was milder then I expected them to be.  I'll be trying them again.

Its also very good as a stand alone dip.

Seafood Cheese Dip Recipe

32oz. Velvetta, cubed

2  8oz. cans  lump crabmeat, drained (ready to eat)

1 can Rol-Tel diced tomatoes and green chilies, undrained

1 cup cooked salad shrimp

I usually do mine on stove with double boiler, or you could use a slow cooker.

This is a lot of  cheese.  I usually cut it in half and still have plenty to use as dip.

Credit goes to "taste of home"

Great job Wes.

Personally, I think you have a nice butt there!

I bet it tasted good.  Did you make the BDSE sauce?

Also, thanks for the recipe on the dip....I'll be trying that!

Bill

Thanks Bill

I tried a new rub I found here.  I really didn't care for it.  It had no flavor and way to much salt.

It was good.  I'm going  to try my hand at some  Mexican dishes with the leftover pork.

I didn't get around to the sauce.   I may make it today though.  I need to run into town and get a cheese grader.  I was going to use a peeler and dice it  but didn't get around to making it up.  Weather is killing the work schedule.

I love to cook.  I know nothing about spices.   What they contribute to food.

I love the McCormick's pork rub, but its just expensive to buy.   I've looked at the ingredients but of course they don't list them all.

It would be nice to be able to get a spice blend flavor without smoking all day just to be disappointed in the end.
