So here is a really super easy meal that we make when camping, and at home. Can be prepped in advance. We like to do foiled or cast iron potatoes as a side. As usual you can add whatever ingredients you want. At the time I didn't have any peppers mild or hot or onions, so the taters just got cheese, bacon and Lawry's seasoned salt. The chicken got Lawry's season salt and a wrap of bacon. These were grilled, but we have smoked them many times.

You can do wedges or fry cut too.

taters, butter, cheeses, bacon. Lawry's Seasoned salt

pouched and ready for the grill

or you can go this route

Couple breasts, seasoned,  wrapped and ready

grilling some bacon for garnish on the taters

Plated, obviously not at camp!

rustic looking grub at it's finest....taters look great in their pouch, ez breezy prep. By the by, was inspired by your DO bread post sooooo have the dough rising now on top of the fridge for tomorrows dinner. Off to get G'mas DO outta it's resting spot and dusted off. Amazing how these postings can spur action.....thx

Oh boy! Did you go with the hot version of the bread? It's good toasted up in bacon grease with smoked pepper jack on it!

x2! a buddy and I are making plans to load up the wall tent and head out to the desert to look for antler shed and shiny objects on the ground! Still a bit early but we're both going nuts!

Wow. You take a few simple ingredients and turn it into a gourmet dish...well done my friend!
Thanks! We do a bunch of different types of camping, boat-in, back-pack, week long hunting wall tent camps, take the in-bed camper.  When the camper isn't going simplicity and meal planning before hand is key! Sometimes even when the camper goes prepping ahead is a big deal. When I did the meal at Paulina Lake last year, Eight whole Chickens an blow torch nachos, I prepped (cleaned etc) the chickens at home, seasoned them, and then vac-packed them and into the cooler. We do like simple, makes travel easy!

We like it simple!!! Sometimes the simplest food is the best! Most of my home cooking stems from my camp cooking. Elaborate meals are a pain in the woods, and we don't like dishes!
