My wife got me a Brinkmann Trailmaster Limited for Christmas. I put it together yesterday in the garage, go figure, new Smoker with me n the garage, my car out in the blizzard. I did the duct extension from the chimney, and installed 2 thermostats at grate level. I also used fire block caulk sealant to 1400 degrees F to seal all the cracks and joints.
I bought the expanded metal from Home Depot, but I don't have anything that will cut it so I think I will return it and see if they have a grill basket or shell fish basket I can buy pre made. I know there is a guy on Ebay selling them, but he wants $35.00 for a homemade charcoal bucket. I know I seem stingy for a guy that can't make one, but I am sure between Depot and TJ Maxx I can find something that will work.

I checked this Forum a lot before I decided on which smoker to get, so a belated Thanks to all!

Greetings Buck! Good to have another Michigander on board! Sounds like your smoker is coming to life! Is it your first?

Hope you got dug out in time for the cold snap that's coming tonight. Looks like winter is finally here to stay.

Heads up for an invite to the MI group coming shortly. Take it easy.

It is my first, but have been grilling since my dad would let me hold the tongs. We are dug out, but the weather will STP me from curing my smoker...bummer.
