Hi all, my name is Randy, 55 years old, new to smoking. Live in the frozen north, near Calgary, Aberta (minus 20 celcius & snowing today) great time to be smoking :) One of our sons had a smoker on his x-mas wish list, but he lives in a townhouse that won't alow smoke, so we decided to buy one for ourself :) Got a Masterbuilt smokehouse propane 2 door from Bass Pro, on sale in US for $179 but my price in Canada $229 :( bummer.
Have been cruising on this and other sites getting info and tips to get started, after seasoning my new smoker, I brined,rubbed & smoked a 8lb home grown chicken last week. Other than a little dry (faulty meat probe) it turned out fantastic
Getting ready for ribs,turkey and ABT's for x-mas, already got a new maverick 732, and made mods to smoke pan, will post pics
