A family friend and former Pastor of our church gave me this recipe just a few weeks before he passed away. I know he would like it to be shared with those who appreciate some good BBQ.
3 cups red wine vinegar
1 stick margarine
2 tablespoon liquid smoke
1 large bottle 32oz ketchup
3 tablespoon black pepper
3 bay leaves
2 tbs chili powder
2 large green bell peppers
2 large onions
1 tablespoon cocoa powder
1 tablespoon salt
2 cups brown sugar
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon worchesterhire sauce
Rough chop pepper and onion. Put into blender with one cup of the red wine vinegar. Blend smooth.
Pour blender ingredients and remainder of the red wine vinegar into a large pot. Add remaining ingredients.
Cook on low heat for 20-30 minutes. Remove bay leaves.
You can adjust the salt, pepper or even add more sugar or red pepper to suit your taste.
