Hello All,

Here is the Q-View from Saturday's smoking.

Rubbed down with yellow mustard and some basic rub. Just under 7 pounds.

Only used one stacker out of three. Coals on bottom, then water pan, then grill rack.

Just coming out.

Went for 10.5 hours on the smoker, then foiled, wrapped in a towel and put in the cooler for one hour.

The bone came right out and the meat fell apart. Between my wife and I it was almost all gone.

Bonus pic. Ribs I did two weeks ago. Both slabs were gone in minutes.

Another bonus pic. The home brew I made up two weeks ago. Gotta have some good home brew to go with smoked meat!!!!!

 Thanks for looking.

Chris

Nice, all around!

Is that a new model of Weber, or a look alike? Seems like I've seen them online before, I think you can use up to 3 modular add-ons, but I can't for the life of me remember where I saw it!

Thanks Eric,

This is a ProQ Excel 20.

I bought it 3 years ago for $90.00. My sister-in-law bought the contents of a bunch of storage units and the storage units were full of these smokers in boxes. I have just started using it after taking it out of storage. I never got to use it because we moved and I had to store it.

Here is a shot of the full smoker, it stands about 5 - 5 1/2 tall. So far it was a heck of good deal for $90.00..

Ah, now I now why I oogled them online for so long a few years ago...they're SWEET!

$90,00 is quite a helluva steal, too. I don't think they're readily available right now (US shipments may have been suspended???), being they're made in the UK, but when I searched, I did find a supplier, but they only listed the ProQ Frontier (smaller rig) stacker add-on, and a Napoleon Smoker, but that link doesn't work.

A good description of your rig:

Anyway, if you ever get the itch to load it up with stacker modules for a big smoke, depending on the diameter of the water pan vs the barrel, you may need to baffle the water pan lip with a metal ring or foil to get lower grate temp variances from top to bottom. I did something similar with my brinkmann gourmet...made it into a modular stacker recently...2 barrels, over 4ft smoke chamber height, up to 4 grates. Lowest grate temp was upwards of 80* hotter than the top grate at times...scratched my head for a couple months trying to figure that one out. So, if you run into that situation, look me up and I'll help you work out a solution.

Again, sweet smoker...oooooooooh, the things I could do with that rig...ha-ha-ha!!!
