So I managed to make it a whole quarter century and celebrated my 25th bday last weekend. When she asked me what I wanted for my birthday, I said "24 hours to do as close to nothing as possible". So I decided to smoke a big pork butt. The grocery store had them on sale for $1.49/lb so I picked up 5. The biggest was just over 9lbs so I did that one.

Made up some of Jeff's rub and laid it on thick

Total cook time was about 19hrs, 17 in the smoker and 2 in foil in the oven due to a storm coming through, temps in the smoker don't remain too stable in pouring rain and gusting wind! Cooked to 202, and temp still climbed to 205. Let rest in warm oven for 2 hours and pulled.

Came out great! Bone practically fell out and the meat just fell apart. I used two forks, but I think I could have used spoons it was so tender. Melt in your mouth. Enjoy!

Happy bday first of all, and the butt looks great! I absolutely love lazy days, except i dont know, at least from my experiences, if doing a nine pound butt would be considered as do the least possible. haha

Happy Birthday..

Looks good. Love those kind of lazy days!
