Good morning

Has anyone ever tried putting pulled pork back into the smoker after pulling and applying a finishing sauce plus more rub to give it an extra kiss of smoke?

I've only attempted 2 pork butts so far with my cajun injector smoker and AMNPS. By the time I add the finishing sauce there isn't as much smoke flavor as I'd like.

This past weekend I did my first brisket and burnt ends (sorry no pics..newbie still learning so please forgive me:) ) The burnt ends got me thinking, why not do the same with some of the pulled pork for who like a bit more smoke (myself included)

So the next time I make a butt I'm going to give it a try.

Any thoughts ?

thanks

Mike

As long as you keep it moist, either with the finishing sauce or spritzing with apple juice, I don't see a problem.

I pour the finishing sauce over it when I have it in larger chunks...then back in the smoker for 45 min. After that I bring it in finish pulling it and mix the finishing sauce around. Turns out great!
