hello everyone. Been lurking her for a while. Been gathering parts for my build. I have a 250 gallon propane tank, going to do a side fire box. I may have access to a 150 gallon tank. My question is, can I cut a section of the 150 gl tank for my firebox? Will the metal be too thin?

what kind of tank? air or propane tank should be fine, but if it is a oil tank IMO would be to thin for a fire box.

I would think a min. 3/16" thk for a fire box 1/4" or thicker would be great.

Thanks for the reply. Both the cooking chamber and the one for the firebox are propane tanks. I am not sure the thickness of them.
