12.5# angus brisket on the menu final pics, mac and cheese recipe added

got some company in town this weekend so decided on a brisket

went to restaurant depot and you know they done have small ones,   12.5# for $2,57 a lb  can't beat that price

 

ain't that pretty   had to grab a bottle of the cattlemans at the depot  $11 for a gallon

had a fun night it finally reached about 170 around noon so i pulled it and seperated the point and the flat

sliced a few off for some burnt ends and foiled the remaining with apple juice until it reached 205  around three

then wrapped it for two hours and into a cooler

I've been wanting to try burnt ends for over a a year and a half now since I saw some from Oklahoma Joes in Kansas City on the Food Network. How did you make yours?

Until I joined the Army, I'd never left Texas alone.  When the BBQ place in Virginia asked me if I would like slaw I said "sure" thinking I'd get it on the side.  When she brought me a sandwich that looks like the one in your photo my jaw dropped.  ...not to mention it was pork.   HAHA   Your brisket looks great!

spray interior of crock with pam

 

mix 8 oz cooked elbow macaroni, 12oz evaporated milk, 1 1/2 cups milk, 1/2 stick butter/ 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp pepper/ 2 beaten eggs, 4 1/2 cups grated cheddar cheese in large bowl then pour into crockpot,  cover with 1 cup more grated sharp sheddar cheese and sprinkle with some paprika

 

cover crock pot set on low temp and cook for three hours, stir mixture and let cook for another 15 mins then serve nice and hot and gooey!

 

This is easy way to make ahead of meal time and just have it ready when your ready to eat
