Just want to get my feet wet here!  I'm Rob from Louisville, KY and just recently discovered the joys of smoking meat.  Started out on an old Brinkman that I bought my dad.  I don't think dad ever used it and and after he died, 12 years ago, it just sat around collecting dust in my garage.  About 8 months ago, a friend brought a bacon explosion to work and after having a slice of that heavenly concoction, I decided to dig out that old Brinkman and give it a try.  The bacon explosion thrilled my sons (ages 18 and 20) and prompted me to try some other meats  on the smoker.........and the rest is, as they say, history.  I've had some moderate success with brisket and butts on the Brinkman, but decided that it wasn't enough so, recently purchased a Weber Smokey Mountain 22.5" smoker and stepped it up  a notch.  Currently making amazing butts, smoked my first lamb roast, and yesterday, Derby Day in Louisville......a whole suckling pig!  And I thank to people of this forum for much of the success I've enjoyed, because I didn't know squat until I started reading about smoking on the internet and primarily on this forum.  So I'll start out just by thanking everyone who has shared their knowledge here with rookies like me.  Oh, and my family and friends appreciate you too!
