Ok, i didnt realize you were using a different type of bag, i thought you were opening a ziplok bag and flipping them every day, my bad. You might not have to soak the meat for a couple hrs, i usually soaked mine for a half an hour. If it was too salty i would go another 15 mins and try it, you might be good at trying that a couple times, you might only need a half an hour.

And on the frozen slicing. i didnt know if the slicer would cut through the frozen meat. Thats why i was curious.
xj, it's cool. I appreciate your suggestion about flipping. I'm definitely soaking the next time I do bacon, as well. Best of luck with the slicing! You should be okay after the meat firms up.

Looks good!!!

capn, thank you!

No need to open the bag?

If done properly, probably no need to flip the bag?  I just do it on general principles.

Good luck and good smoking.

The slicing went good. The frozen slabs definately sliced easier, but they do tend to thaw fast. Check out my bacon in this section.

Vary nice , It sure is nice to see success when a guy try new things . Looks like your on you way to never buying store bought bacon again . We just fry-ed some up for a super bowl party Our Friends can't get enough. it's like candy only better The smell in the house after you fry some up make you want more. I also put them in the freezer for a short time before i slice, it work a lot better.

Good Luck hope to see more.

Big, thank you and you're right! We had the usual overabundance of food at the house for the Super Bowl yesterday and I had to also fry up a bunch of homemade bacon to satisfy those in attendance that wanted to try it. At the end of the evening, I had zip-locs ready for my parents and my father-in-law. I'll let you guess what they're having for breakfast this morning! LOL! Also, they all want to come back when the BuckBoard is ready. What have I started?
