Need a new food/meat slicer......

any help or direction would be great!  thanks!  would like to stay under $300

Chef's Choice makes several inexpensive slicers. They are good quality slicers for under $300.

does it have to be new? keep your eye on craigslist and be patient....... fill out your pofile.... We cant see what area you live in. We encourage all members to let us know where they are so times like this we can better help you.....

I agree with Joe watch Craigslist and watch for a good deal on a commercial unit they take up more room but a decent one should last you a lifetime and slice whatever you may want to do

I have this one in the 1/3 hp because I needed the 11" blade.  It gives me more room for slicing BBB or large roasts.  I'm very happy with this one.

The ones from Cabelas are made by Chef's Choice behind the scenes

I would also get the 11" blade if you can afford it.

 

Craigslist is a good place to get one, but make sure the blade does not have any nicks in it.  A new blade can cost as much as your used slicer!

I found my globe c-10 on Craigslist for 140 bucks. Just look under the buisness section and search for slicer. I would look at least once a day. I would also look for a slicer that has the "knife" instead of a solid blade that turns against the meat. The knife type are the ones that have a stationary section in the middle of the knife wheel to minimize contact between the knife and the meat, thus reducing drag.
