cheap butts

Schnucks had a sale on labor day that i couldn't pass up !!!

got 3 butts, one was sliced



rub honey on the butts before putting the rub on . Hoping that it will have a sweet taste when done .



in pans on the smoker                                                         wrap at 170./ looks like it time to be put in the cooler (201)

lots of juice . save it and made some gravy with it. Turn out great!!!

Made small bags with the food saver. Vacuum sealed and put in freezer for my lunch.

I made "Jeff's bbq sauce and added 1/2 cup of honey to it. Turn out great !!!!! has a sweet and spices taste to it.

Thanks , we had no idea what we wanted to smoke. We went to Schnucks just to see what they had . Seen the price on them couldn't pass it up And with the food saver we stock up the freezer!

Awesome! I just payed $1.98 / lb at costco. A meat store that opened up not too long ago wanted $6.99 / lb, I walked out haha.

Sometimes at Sobey's here you can get full bone in butts for .99/LB.........last time they had the sale I just got into smoking so I only bought 2.  If I find this sale again I will fill the freezer!!!

Great looking food and great score.  I am lucky to be able to stock up this week at $1.29.  A little over a year ago I was paying .99.  Now they are regularly $1.99 unless on sale.  And they tell us there is no inflation?

thanks AL ,  it was good. Now We have a freezer full of PP. I make up Jeff's BBQ sauce with honey in it. Put that on top. That makes a great meal .

Just got Schnucks ads for this week (10-4-11) . Whole pork butts $1.19 lbs. Well looks like its going to be a PP weekend on the smoker.

Cheapest I've seen is $1.49 lbs and that's at WinCo
