Don't know if anyone has posted this but they sure look like a good idea for a Halloween party or children's birthday.  Amazing the things you find just cruzin the Internet

Yes someone on this forum made them quite awhile ago, but I can't find the original.

I forgot who it was.

I think it was for a picnic for his kid's Tee-Ball team, at the end of their season.

I saw this picture last year and had to do it.  Here's a picture of mine as well as the recipe:

The biggest trick I found was to use FROZEN hot dogs for the legs, head, and tail so over the 90 - 120 minute cook, they didn't blow up and look weird.

Well, I'm going to have to give them a try next time I fire up the Lang. I can imagine my wife bringing one of those to work for lunch.

I think that in order to properly pursue the course of one-upmanship, we'd have to forget turtles, and move onto something bigger, and more unique.

How about a kitty-cat fattie?

I think it would be funny to make a cat-shaped fattie, and invite those new neighbors over...

Did you smoke or grill? Do you remember temps? My nephews would love these.

Teeznuts,

Same temp as cooking a fatty - around 250F for 90 - 120 minutes.  Since I used all pre-cooked ingredients for the "guts" on these turtles, I didn't really worry about internal temp.  I was cooking fattys at the same time so as soon as they were done, the turtles were done too.
