    Smoker Recommendations

Was hoping someone could get me started in the right direction. Currently have a chargriller offset and planning on upgrading. Would like to try my hand at some competitions and small catering. What size of smoker would be good to start with. Much of what I do is small cooks for family but...

    First Smoke of the Year

Tomorrow will be the first smoke of the year.  Finally after the long cold winter.  Cleaned out the freezer with a slab of baby backs and a couple of chicken thighs.  Also picked up a 1.5 lb spencer chuck roast.  Will be my first one so wish me luck.  Also will be trying out the new Maverick...

All thinking about trying my hand at a chuck roast for pulled chuckles (thanks bear carver for the idea) with some ribs this weekend if weather holds out. Chargriller super pro -maintaining temp. Need help.

Need some help for my next steps. Did a smoke yesterday. A little windy and in the 50's. Started off with ribs and temp was fine (200-225). Put chicken (8 thighs) and fattie on and had a real hard time since temps stayed between 150 and 200. Went through about 20 lbs of charcoal. Used a water...

    First smoke any tips

Doing my first smoke today on chargriller super pro. Have water pan in and ribs on. Didn't do any mods so to keep temp have to close top damper on smokestack to regulate heat. Leaks like a sieve so mods soon to come. Any suggestions appreciated. Ribs KC with rub and brown sugar. Need to figure...

    Reuse half burned charcoal

Probably a stupid question but thought I would ask. Does anyone save partially burned charcoal for their next use or just let it burn out? New to charcoal (and cheap) so thought I would ask. If you save it, how do you extinguish it.

Smoked some breasts last week as a test and came out great. Think I'm going to be hooked. Hope the weather holds out this weekend. Can't wait to...
