    Whats your favorite BBQ sauce?

Or do you have your own secret recipe? We like Sweet Baby Rays. We went to Bass Pro the other day and picked up a bottle of Dr. Pepper BBQ sauce it was surprisingly good. We tried it on some smoked sausage. I'm tempted to try it on a rack of ribs. It's not overpowering, but you can taste the Dr...

    Lovin the MES40

As the first one I got had problems of leaking smoke and water, which waterlogged the control panel. They took it back and replaced it no problem at Sam's. This one doesn't leak and so far is working great. Going to smoke some baby backs, sausage, corn on the cob and some picnic ribs today. Hope...

    Masterbuilt cold smoker

Anyone have any input on the master-built cold smoker attachment? It looks decent, but what about performance?

Going to try A corn beef brisket

Well, I blanched the peppers first, then submersed them in ice water. I put the water pan in with some garlic and closed the vent half way. Hope that works. Thanks for the info.

    Deer jerky????

I saw a jerky deer one time. It was so close I couldn't get a shot at it without shooting myself or my partner. Boy was that deer strange. It probably would have made some good deer jerky.

    New stuff

Ordered the Maverick ET-732 a while ago. If mama finds out I'll have to put myself in the smoker. But I could tell her its for her so I can cook for her more precisely. By the way. They have the Western wood chip assortment on sale at Wal-mart for $5.99. Regular bags are $2.78 each. It comes...

    Boy howdy!

My ribs and tenderloins were so good. I made my own rub. I also smoked some crabmeat stuffed jalapenos with cream cheese wrapped in bacon. And for good measure, I smoked an apple pie with sharp cheddar on top. (I made the pie from scratch a couple of days ago) I never knew what I was missing. My...

    On my second MES40

Was getting ready to smoke some ribs and a couple of tenderloins yesterday, tried to preheat the master-built..........nothing. It wouldn't come on. Unit less than a week old. Called master-built and told them it would work remote only, and told them that the door leaked smoke and water even...

    Smoked Leg quarters

Used the new Master built 40" today. It leaked moisture from the glass seal quite a bit, leaving a puddle on the porch. I was very disappointed. Then I took out the quarters and thought they were too strong, almost creosote. Then the girls came home and tasted them and loved them. That was...

    Santa Came Early?

I didn't wait too much longer. Put in the chips and it put out some nice smoke. I thought about bringing it inside cause it smelled so good. The inside has such a nice copper gold color. Can't decide what to try first. I am still planning on a larger wood smoker on our property with a dug out...

    Santa Came Early?

Got a new MES40 today, and am seasoning it as I speak! It has about 40 minutes before chip time but it still smells chemical or oily. Heated it up to max per instructions. I was thinking of adding more time before wood chips, couldn't hurt. What do you all think?

Hello from the Ms. Gulf Coast

Well this seems to be the spot for folks that love to cook outdoors. I love my kitchen, but I love to grill outdoors. We live on 5.5 acres surrounded by woods. Of course we have deer and wild hogs here. Most folks see hogs as a nuisance, but I see sausage. I have the 22.5 inch Weber kettle and...
