    AMNPS with high humidity

I'm testing it now.  I nuked the pellets, fired them up and waited about 6 minutes.  Opened the top vent all the way and put a can on top of the vent.  Took out the water pan, opened the drawer an inch or so, opened the chip adder about 2 inches.  The smoking pellets are in there now.  Hope it...

    AMNPS with high humidity

Hi y'all! I live in Florida and it's really HOT and HUMID.  I plan on smoking a butt starting Monday night and I'm wondering if I'll have a problem with the humidity.  I have a MES30.  Right now there is no air flow and it's so humid that I'm afraid the amnps will not stay lit.  I don't want to...

    AMNPS & tent

Thanks everyone and thanks David for the picture of your tent.  I bet I could do that with a wire hanger since I don't have and SS TIG welding rods laying around.  Ok...no more water!  Makes sense to me. As always, your comments are priceless. Linda

    AMNPS & tent

Does anyone have a picture that shows how to make the foil tent over the AMNPS? This past weekend I made some BB ribs in my MES 30 using the AMNPS and it just didn't stay smoking. I had the chip drawer open, the side chip adder open and the top vent all the way open. I did have water in the...

So what's all this fuss about ABTs?

NivekD, Today I made my first ABTs and used your recipe (almost).  I got everything ready and wrapped them in bacon and realized I forgot the Colby jack cheese.  So, I just put them in the smoker the way they were.  Hope they turn out well and I'm looking forward to trying other ABT recipes. First bb rib smoke

Thank you.  I had a lot of fun making them.  However, some did not fall off the bone the way I like them.  I suppose next time I'll have to move them around in the smoker or give them a little more time in the foil.  All in all...they were great! Linda

    First bb rib smoke

Thanks to so many people on this site I was successful in my fist BB rib smoke. Last night I smothered the ribs in mustard and seasoning. Started the smoker around noon at 225. Ready to go in the MES 30. Yep, temperature is right... After two hours it's time to put them in foil.  Notice...

    Starting the AMNPS

Hi all! I ordered the AMNPS and should be receiving it soon.  My question is how do I start it?  I'm thinking a regular lighter will not do the trick. Thanks, Linda
