We Lost a Member, I Lost a Friend

Gonna try and contact Earl to make this a sticky here, at least for a few weeks. Scott in KC, also known as KCquer on other forums, died yesterday of an apparent heart attack at 41 years old. He was OTBS number 19, I believe, but more importantly, he was my friend. I have known Scott for...

"What kind of sauce did you use?"

Before going on vacation, I needed to smoke 4 slabs of ribs, a maple fatty, and smoked cheesy bread (see pictures in Side Dish thread) and a pork butt to have the dog sitter over for dinner for a good meal, and pet care instructions. Well, with all that bread and fatty, only 2 slabs managed to...

    Spiedies Chicken Kabobs (kinda smoked)

Tonight, I'm cutting up chicken to marinate in Spiedies marinade for tomorrow night kabobs on the grill, using Jack Daniels chips in my smoke box. I have tried the entire Lupo's line of marinades, but the Spiedies is Awesome on chicken. This is, I believe, a big thing in the western part of...

With the price of steel continuing to rise....

I'm thinking of buying a nice pit now, before the deck is redone, just as a hedge on steel prices. What'da think of this one? http://www.peoriacustomcookers.com/n...ard/index.html Peoria is at least driveable, so the shipping I save can go into upgrades (1/2" firebox, etc)

Great book on some of the old school establishments in Texas. Great stories for the bathroom, great recipes and techniques to try in the yard or kitchen. I have a request that will help me and other user help other users help each other. Its simple. Use the "attach signature" function in your profile, and put in the information of what cookers, tools, grills, etc that you use. So if someone says "How do I keep temps up?", and you look down and...

I know there was already a Fathers Day thread started, but that pertained to more of a large group tidbit of info. Me and my 7yr old are sitting on the patio, under the EZ-Up, few sprinkles here and there, WSM pegged at 226 with a 6# trimmed flat, fat side down. Gonna take out 2 fatties...

I noticed this forum sitting here all lonely with no posts. Then I said, I think biscuits count, don't they? Take a pack of "skinnies" (regular breakfast links) and smoke them an hour or two. No need to wrap them in bacon for this experiment, but it would help  If you wrap them...
