I would really appreciate all the advise I can get.I am not a first time smoker, but I only know enough to be dangerous! Exhaust Stack (Chimney) Volume

OK, maybe a stupid question, but my exhaust stack will be inserted into the cooking chamber. My question is does the volume start on top of the cooking chamber, or does the entire volume of the pipe (including the portion inside the chamber) account for the volume? I am ready to make my cut on...

Smoke stack For 250 gal RF smoker

Do you guys think this will work for smoke stack: STEEL ROUND PIPE 6-5/8" o.d. x 9-ga PIPE BALLARDS.I have been pricing out steel pipe and it is very expensive. I also don't want to waste money on something that is not thick enough and/or won't work well. I would really appreciate your opinion.

What is commonly used for the exhaust stack

What is a good material/source for the exhaust stack? Do most people use pipe and if so what thickness is recommended?  I ran my numbers and I am planning on having either 6 or 7 inch inner diameter stack:                If 7 inch is used my exhaust stack will be 31.0 inches long            ...

    Cutting door from propane tank

I was thinking about cutting the top section of the door, then welding on hinges, and finish by cutting sides and bottom. Is this a good idea, or is it recommended to cut out the complete door first then install hinges? Thanks in advance for your thoughts, Steve

    Soda blasting verse grinding

I was going to look at having my 250 gal tank soda blasted but unsure of cost? Anyone know about what the cost would be and if it's worth it over just performing a good grind?

    Fire box question

I am building the FB for 250 gallon tank smoker and have ran the numbers through the calculator several different ways using different configurations for the firebox size. My question is if there are any advantages for making the firebox a perfect cube, wider, or higher than width? Cheers, Steve.

    Greetings from Georgia!

I am looking forward to contributing to the forums. I will probably have more questions at first than answers, but I love to teach as well as learn. I love to cook, but lately I have been obsessed with my smoker build. Now that I have a little more time, kids are finishing high school and...

Making reverse flow smoker in Atlanta, Georgia

I'm looking for a tank for a smoker. I have mixed feelings about using air or propane tank. Looking for one I can use for large groups and eventually compitions. What size is recommended for competition? Also want to use for company and customer gatherings.
