    Insulated Plywood Smokehouse

That's the same size compressor I've got. What's a quick valve though? Anyway of rigging a foot pedal with air?

    Insulated Plywood Smokehouse

When I was searching the web I remember seeing a few folks use fiberglass. Most use foam, but my lowes doesn't carry it and I hand the glass laying around. I'm not hot smoking in this and it's sealed up. I was worried about the glass molding from rain water. Looking forward to seeing your build...

You gotta be careful with using air. It compresses so you could potentially blow your whole deal apart. I'm having trouble keeping all the water sealed. Maybe a tbsp worth leaks through and messes up my last bit of sausage. Maybe should try the air. Anyone know if CO2 if the same as air as...

    Smokhouse Addiction New Build

I think it looks pretty dang good. I just finished mine and I agree with you. The cost just keeps going up. Haha. I like the side compartment. I'd be afraid to leave my tank in there. But I'm kind of freaked out by propane tanks. Got a friend that got sent to the burn center because of one.

Have you opened it up yet? I've heard that they have a certain kind of insulation in them that you can't really burn out. Its like a epoxy fiberglass type of something. I've got one in the backyard but when I started reading that everywhere I didn't get in a hurry to try use it. Not all tanksl...

Curing meats and "sell by" dates.

A lot of whole primals, meaning vac packed whole muscles such as brisket, don't even have sell by dates or best by dates. They come with production dates and the retailer puts the sell by on it. Whole primals that come vac packed from the packers will last a long time. With beef if it's bad you...

Want to make a meat grinder

Do you mean convert a hand grinder to electric or make one completely from scratch? Easiest thing would be to get a #22 off eBay and hook a washing machine motor to it. Could use a jack shaft to get the rpm right if needed.

    First Buckboard

I liked it. Tasted kinda salty if you fry it til it's crisp. Fry it just a little bit and it tastes like a ham. Goes great on a burger tho. Got a belly in the freezer I'm gonna do next.

    First Buckboard

Here's a shot of my first try at some buckboard bacon. Used Tenderquick with brown sugar and some maple syrup thrown in. Can't really taste the maple tho. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

So it's been a month and I'm still not "done". It's running though. Did some snack sticks after seasoning a bit. That's the finished product minus some stain and spar. Some sticks ready to eat. Also made a water stuffer. Guess I'll start a different thread on that if anyone wants me too...

My First Smoker Build - Please Help!

I believe you could use the 4" pipe and just increase the length to 15". Extra three inches shouldn't be too much to notice.

    Insulated Plywood Smokehouse

Been getting into sausages, snack sticks, and bacon here lately so I needed an easier way to cook at lower temps. My performer is just to much work trying to keep low. Was gonna buy but I like to roll my own so I decided to build. Decided on 2x4's and 11/32" plywood with fiberglass insulation...

    New from SC

Hey there! Just signed up, been reading through for a while though. I'm from Greenwood SC and I've been smoking for quit some time. Right now I'm stuck smoking with a weber performer. I have an ECB that holds my chimney while lighting my coals. Lol. Currently in the process of building a plywood...
