AB Canuck, It works really well :) Almost a set it, forget it and once you get it dialled in. If you click on the picture it will take you to my photobucket and there are some pictures of tasty food, I just cooked on it lol.
It was about $1700 CDN in materials. Sheet metal, plate steel for FireBox, square tubing, expanded metal, angle iron, 4x casters, 1 1/2" & 2" SS Ball valves.
An so it begins. The welder has the charcoal chute, firebox and the c channel all welded up. The three pieces are ready to be welded together, so i got some of the square tubing to insulate.
The question is are you in the US or Canada ? I am pretty sure that you will be able to get steel quite a bit cheaper than i can if you are in the US. I am in Canada. I will let you know what the steel costs, once the welder gives me the bill :)
Al, It's been a very long time since i welded anything. I actually don't even own a welder anymore. I will get someone else to weld it all together, for me :) Shoulder be quicker and alot less grinding or fixing mistakes than if i did it lol.
