    My set up is nearly identical. For elevation I'm using an old smoker box which is about the size of a brick. My location is the same. So far very good results.

    One more thing to check with the Gen 2.5 BT is the small drip hole on the floor of the unit. If you cover the flat tray with tin foil, make sure you punch open the hole in the tray. Otherwise you block airflow from the hole. I've used my smoker three times now with the AMNPS with no problems...

    Jted --- thanks for making the effort to put this together. It is definitely something for all of us to consider when using the toys we love so much. Well worth the small investment in a good cord for those who need one.

    A brick wrapped foil will work to elevate the AMNPS. A magic eraser and a bucket of warm water is great for cleaning.

    Have to agree whole-heartedly. I smoked a big load of beef ribs a couple days ago. One magic eraser and a bucket of warm water was all it took for cleaning. One eraser did the trick.

    I use the one that says "DUO" on the box. You can get a 4-pack at Target. No idea on the cost as the Mrs. is the queen of Target shopping. This one cleans the glass on my MES 40 like brand new with minimal effort. It can handle all the metal surfaces too, if desired. It does not leave any scratches.

    Have to agree 100% on the brine. We have done several smoked turkeys for Thanksgiving. Brine is a huge help. I use a Home Depot 5 gallon bucket to brine birds.  Of course treat yourself to a brand new one and wash it well. You could toss a couple 8 pound chickens in one. Plenty of room for more...

    You can also pick up the 30" Gen 2.5 at Home Depot for $299. It appears to be "in store" only. Most of our local stores have it in stock. They do not have the 40" one.

    Sam's has 40" Gen 2.5 bluetooth for $329. I just picked one up last week.It has four racks. Seasoned it the other day and hope to smoke in a few days.

    Completely agree. Fingers crossed this performs like Gen 1 and not Gen 2.
