My new UDS is to hot
Used my UDS for the first time last Sunday. I couldn't get the temp below 300 degrees. I had all air ports on top and bottom shut and it held steady at 305. The only thing I can think of letting air in is the lid does not fit super good cause i suck at using a grinding wheel when I cut the lid...- mobuckbuster

Oil drum
Found an old oil drum to use for my UDS just wanted to make sure that an oil drum would be safe to use for my smoker. I of course would burn it out real good and clean it out with some comet. Brad- mobuckbuster

What happens if I do not burn out the drum liner ?
I'm sure this is been posted 1000 times but I'm new to the UDS. world what happens if I just built the smoker and do not burn out the liner? I have two drums I've tried to bring both letters out and it doesn't seem like I'm going to be able to get the liner out. Will it harm the food or make it...- mobuckbuster
