    Thanks, again. Although, I did take a moment to Google "Welder's Layout Tools" last night. If I'm right, the tool you were talking about seems like it would be in a Pipefitter's toolbox. Jim

    Just getting started in building smokers and have been doing a lot of reading since joining the Forum. For those of you with more experience, what are you using as Datums to begin your layouts? I've looked but, haven't found anything that mentions just how or what to use to start your layout...
