    Smoking Pork Loins

    Pork loin came out ok. It was a little pink so I finished in the oven for 45 minutes. I pulled at 150 Deg IT and let it rest for an hour.

    I like just buying the sand and changing it out when I smoke.  I didn't think about the cat dropping issue.  I most likely won't use water either.

    Great!  Now I have to go get a chuck roast and smoke it.  Man does that look good.  Great job.  I can now say for sure that SMF continues to contribute to my weight gain!  Well at least that's what Im going to tell my doctor. How long did you marinate?

    I have never used sand only apple juice and water.  I have a Masterbuilt 40 XL propane smoker.  What is the suggested method of using sand.  I like the idea of consistent temperature.  As always, I look forward to the guidance here at SMF. Mike

    Summer Sausage and Meat Sticks

    I bought the Maverick ET-732 dual probe.  I found the temp on the door is 50 or so degrees off.  Before the Maverick, I was smoking at 250 degrees and I was burning them along with being very dry.
