Your diagnosis was correct, one of the connectors was burned up. You recommended replacing both wires and connectors, what's the procedure for getting to the elements.
Thanks
After 8 hrs of smoking at 225, dark smoke started coming from around the control unit and the bottom of the back of the unit. There was a snapping noise and the unit quit. I've been using the unit on a regular basis for a year is so.
Suggestions?
Yes on both questions. Just remove the chip tray and pull the chip loader out two inches or so. Put the smoker to the far left of the heating element. By pulling the chip tray out part way it allows air to get in to keep the pellets lite.

Just love using the AMNPS, although I do have...
Awesome built, have been looking to build a smokehouse myself. If you have time for a couple of questions, please email me at [email protected].
Thanks!
Been a smoker for too many years and have tried them all. Amazn Smoker and pellets works the best of any combination I've tried and saved a lot if sleep on over night smokes!
Are you willing to share more information relating to the modifications? Looks like what you have done will solve my issue of smoking over night without losing sleep.
Thanks!
