A friend from church dropped off this Smoke Hollow stick burner today. I have never used one before, I have used propane and charcoal. The smoker is pretty sound although the firebox need the rust removed and paint applied. Any hints, help or suggestions are welcome.

PS to Silverwolf: I've been in your neck of the woods. I have a friend who is the minister at the Moravian Church in Gnadenhutten. We found out the closest grocery store is in Uhlrichsville.
Hadn't seen this before. Glad someone posted something or I may have missed it. My wife bought two hams for Christmas even though we won't be home. She got one of her favorites from Wegmans (You know Wegman's, Bear, don't you?) The other came from Bottom Dollar and was cheap.
Well I am looking...
Ok sometimes it is best to step back and re-evaluate things.
Saturday night my wife packed up the leftovers. Today I had some for lunch. The first thing I noticed was the remaining meatloaf had firmed up pretty well. We could even slice it! When I took it off the grill, it broke into 2 large...

yOh, btw, if a...
I think I can solve the part about it falling apart. There were two things, one is that it was formed and placed on a tray and placed in the fridge to firm up and chill. When I put it on the rack, it broke a bit and I tried to reform it. I think that is where it broke apart. We have two larger...
Been smoking for more than 25 years but never did meatloaf before. I tried it for the first time yesterday and probably will never make it again. I used a recipe off the internet, figuring most people posting have already perfected their recipe for best results. My wife thought the meatloaf...
Hi Bearcarver. Yes, you are close.. You mentioned Quakertown. Labor Day weekend I was at a butcher on Richlandtown Pike and got a rack of beef short ribs to smoke. The rack weighed 22 pounds and was cut into 4 pieces. I lucked out and only paid $2.50 a pound. It was really aw3esome after it was...
Just joined today and I understand it is proper to post an intro. I am in Allentown, PA and have been smoking for more than 25 years. I started with a Little Chief electric unit to smoke fish, Then I got a Brinkman charcoal smoker and actually went thru 3 of them. My smoker spends all year...
I'm new to the group and my screen name is pretty easy to figure out. I have been making and throwing boomerangs for about 25 years now. Been smoking longer than that.
